A dance studio for all ages
Would you like to learn to dance? Then Dansstudio Flexx is the right place for you. For over 32 years, we’ve been offering dance classes to toddlers, children, teens, and adults. Over the years, some of our students have even gone on to attend professional dance programs.
Welcome to Dansstudio Flexx
Dansstudio Flexx is a dance school for all ages, with locations in Hoofddorp, Nieuw-Vennep, and Zwanenburg. We offer a wide range of dance styles, such as modern dance, classical ballet (including pointe work), hip-hop, street dance, Afro, commercial, dancehall, and dance mix.
For our youngest dancers, we offer toddler and preschool dance classes, and for advanced dancers, we have competition groups. Every year, we put on a major dance performance at the theater where our students can showcase what they’ve learned.
We also organize workshops, dance days, and children’s parties in various styles.
Owner Robin Balk works alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team of instructors. Together, they share one great passion: dance. With personal attention and lots of energy, they aim to help every student grow and, above all, enjoy the joy of dance.

Robin Balk
Owner - Dance Instructor
Robin Balk is the owner of Dansstudio Flexx and a certified dance instructor with a broad background in various dance styles. She completed the higher professional education program in Dance Education at Fontys Academy of the Arts and has studied dance for a total of seven years.
In addition to her work at the studio, Robin is active as a choreographer and instructor in educational projects, including those with the Dutch National Opera & Ballet. For example, she created the choreography for the 2026 Children’s Choir Festival and the 2026 Opera Heroes Week.
Dansstudio Flexx
Robin started dancing at a young age at Dansstudio Flexx. After years of taking and teaching classes herself, she is now in charge of the studio. Together with her team, she works every day to inspire and challenge dancers and help them grow.
Teaching remains her greatest passion. Five days a week, she can be found at the studio, where she teaches a wide range of classes: from toddler and preschool dance to classical ballet (including pointe work), and from street dance and hip-hop to modern dance and all-style classes for advanced students.
In addition, Robin leads workshops, organizes dance days and children’s parties, offers private lessons and technique training for competition groups, and coaches solos and duets.
Petra Koorn
Dance Instructor – Hoofddorp & Zwanenburg Locations
Petra Koorn led the former Balletstudio Flex for 32 years. She is a certified instructor in classical dance, toddler and preschool dance, jazz dance, and modern dance.
She completed the higher professional education dance program at the Theaterschool in Amsterdam and has also taken various workshops in street dance and hip-hop, among other styles. She also danced in a performance group for several years.
Petra teaches toddler and preschool dance classes as well as classical ballet for adults.
Joleen Overbeek
Dance Instructor & Assistant – Hoofddorp
Joleen has been dancing at Dansstudio Flexx her whole life and is a member of the competition team. She has won several awards with her dance partner. She completed an internship at Dansstudio Flexx. She has also taught dance classes, choreographed a dance performance for De Graankorrel Church, and helps out at the daycare center.
She teaches the “Dance Mix” class and assists with the toddler and preschool classes.
Kimberly Mink
Dance Instructor – Hoofddorp & Nieuw-Vennep Locations
Kimberly started dancing herself at Dansstudio Flexx and eventually graduated from the MBO dance program at Nova College in Haarlem. Kimberly coaches our competition groups and attends dance competitions.
You’ll find Kimberly teaching in the studio four days a week. She teaches toddler dance, preschool dance, classical ballet (including pointe work), street dance, hip-hop, modern dance, pre-selection classes, and competition groups. She also coaches solos and duets.
Eva Hachmang
Dance Instructor Intern – Hoofddorp Location
Eva is currently enrolled in the MBO dance program at Nova College in Haarlem. She has competed in dance competitions for many years and has received extensive training in various dance styles.
On Wednesdays in Hoofddorp, Eva is doing an internship with the preschool and classical ballet groups, as well as teaching technique, modern dance for ages 18 and up, and hip-hop for ages 18 and up.
Daniek Griffioen
Dance Instructor – Zwanenburg Location
Daniek has been dancing at Dansstudio Flexx for years and has danced on several competitive teams.
In addition to dancing, she is studying to become an elementary school teacher at Inholland University of Applied Sciences.
Daniek teaches street dance and hip-hop classes.
Melissa Vlaar
Dance Instructor - Hoofddorp Location
Melissa completed the MBO dance program at Nova College and specializes in children's classes.
She teaches dance classes for toddlers and preschoolers, as well as classical ballet classes.
